Measuring the unmeasurable: heat stress of goods in packaging lines
Get in TouchFinite element methods give an insight into the thermal energy intake of packaged good during sealing operations
Many packing operations include a thermal sealing step, in which the filling good is for a very short time very close to hot surfaces, having significantly elevated temperatures. As a consequence also the filling good will be heated, but with conventional methods it is very difficult to measure the temperature of the tablet and a potential damage of the pharmaceutical product is hard to assess.
Using finite element methods, we can simulate and calculate the thermal stress over time to support this assessment.
